ICMS 8th grader, Rhiana Escobar, is the Champion of the 2023 Georgia Association of Educators, Region 9, Spelling Bee. Rhiana will move on to compete in the Georgia State Spelling Bee that be held on March 17, 2023 at Georgia State University in Atlanta. Rhiana studied and prepared independently. She not only had to spell words, but also had to answer vocabulary questions. Irwin County School System's local bee coordinator is 7th grade Language Arts teacher, Maria Johnson. Congratulations, Rhiana!!! Irwin County is super proud of you and your accomplishment! Good luck at the state competition!
