ICMS 8th grader, Rhiana Escobar, competed in the 2023 GAE State Spelling Bee on Friday, March 17th. Rhiana represented not only Irwin County, but all the districts of Region 9. She went through several rounds of spelling and vocabulary before elimination. During the entire process, Rhiana responded well and showed good sportsmanship. We are extremely proud of her for taking on the challenge. As the 2022 District Champion, 2023 District Champion, and the 2023 Region 9 Champion, this was her last year of Spelling Bee competition. We look forward to her moving on to high school and exercising her talents. Thank you to all of our students who participated in this academic competition from the classroom to the stage. As always, their efforts are greatly appreciated.
