8th Grade /Parent Transition to High School Meetings were a great success! Students(T3) and their parents had the opportunity to meet in a cozy, relaxed setting to discuss what to expect as they prepare for high school. Mrs. Mullis, the future high school counselor for these students, guided families through important topics such as high school credits, end-of-course exams, and CTAE class options. She also addressed common myths and misconceptions to help ease any concerns. Snacks were served, adding to the welcoming atmosphere, and attendees were joined by Dr. Mizell, the school system’s Parent Engagement Coordinator, and Mrs. Edwards, the Irwin County Family Connections representative. Both contributed to the fun by providing two prize baskets for lucky drawing winners. By the end of the sessions, both students and parents felt more informed and confident about the exciting journey into high school.
