Irwin County Schools will be closed Thursday, March 21, 2024 due to a major water line break around one of the buildings. We hope to have the issue resolved by the end of tomorrow and plan to have school on Friday. If anything changes regarding Friday, we will let you know as quickly as possible. All staff should report to work by 9:00 am on Thursday, March 21st.

The Irwin County Middle School Y-Club has been very busy this Christmas Season. The Irwin County Middle School Y-Club sponsored a Christmas Gift Bag Giveaway for the residents of one of Ocilla`s local nursing homes. The students collected/donated items and assembled the bags. The gift bags included items such as socks, lotion, hair brushes, combs, shampoo & conditioner as well as other essential items. The Irwin County Middle School Y-Club`s mission is to extend beyond our walls. We believe in the profound impact of giving back to our community. Each act of generosity, whether big or small, echoes far beyond the moment of giving. It creates ripples of hope, compassion, and support that strengthen the very fabric of our neighborhoods. By embracing the spirit of giving, we not only uplift those in need but also weave a tapestry of unity and empathy. It's in these acts of selflessness that we find our greatest strength as a community. Together, we build a brighter future, one where kindness and solidarity prevail. The Irwin County Middle School Y Club is collecting toys for its annual Toys for Tots Drive. You may donate a new toy or book to help a child in need have a great Christmas. The drop-off box is located in the Irwin County Middle/High School library. The box will be picked up on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

ICMS Y Club Members
The ELA classes of Mrs. Kady Faulk and Mrs. Tammy Anderson held a Mock trial. Students had to present their case of whether the Narrator of the "The Tell-Tale Heart" was indeed insane or not. Defense and prosecuting lawyers eagerly presented their sides based on his confession statement to a jury that was selected by the students.
This assignment covered learning standards, daily learning targets, and allowed students to access all learning modalities. At ICMS students are encouraged and allowed to be creative. Teachers believe in teaching students to meet success criteria. This is learning at its best. Great job students!!!!
ICHS Band Director, Michael Staub and the ICHS/ICMS Concert Bands would love to welcome the Irwin County Community to attend their fall band concert on November 2, 2023, at 6:30 PM in the McFarland Theatre. The concert will feature the 7th and 8th grade ICMS Concert Band and The ICHS Concert Band.
